Teresa of Avila

The life of Teresa of Avila (1515-1582) 16th century mystic and a patron saint of Spain, is known to us largely through her autobiography which she began writing at age 47. In this account of her life she describes the long slow process by which she achieved spiritual transformation and became a saint through sheer force of will and the grace of God. (read more)
